Memorial Wednesday for Bowie State Murder Victim

Bowie State University is hosting a memorial to honor a student stabbed to death in her campus apartment.

Officials say the service Wednesday night is meant to allow the university community to celebrate Dominique Frazier's impact on the campus life.

The memorial service will be held at the Center for Learning and Technology, in Room 102.

Bowie State released a statement on the September 15 homicide in the Christa McAuliffe dormitory:

"Bowie State administration, faculty, staff and students offer deepest condolences to the family of the victim Dominique T. Frazier, 18, a resident in CMRC from Washington, D.C.  This kind of senseless violence is difficult to understand."

Prosecutors say Frazier was stabbed to death last week by her roommate, Alexis Simpson, after the women argued about music playing from an iPod. Simpson's attorney calls the stabbing a tragic accident, but prosecutors say she had made a choice to end Frazier's life.
