LEWES, Del. -- Two 15-year-old Calvert County, Md., girls were caught taking off their clothes at a movie theater and snapping pictures of themselves with cell phones, Delaware State Police said.
An employee at Midway Movies in Lewes spotted the girls on surveillance video Friday night in a hallway taking off their clothes and taking pictures of themselves, Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh said. Several patrons walking by also witnessed the incident, Whitmarsh said.
Troopers arrested the two girls from Chesapeake Beach, charged them with disorderly conduct and contacted their parents.
The girls planned to send the photos to their friends, Whitmarsh said. It's part of a growing trend among teens called "sexting."
The incident may seem silly, Whitmarsh said, but parents should talk to their children about the dangers of sending digital images since once one is sent, they don't have control over how it is used.
