Marine Killed in Baltimore While Celebrating Deployment

An active-duty Marine was killed in the line of fire before being deployed.

The 26-year-old Marine was shot in a Baltimore nightclub at about 3:15 a.m. while partying with a few fellow Marines, police said. They were celebrating their deployment to Afghanistan.

The club is located near a street known as The Block, which is home to a string of strip joints.

Police said there was a fight inside the club and the Marine was shot to death on the dance floor. His name has not been released, but police said he was from New Orleans.
