Man Who Threatened To Kill President Bush In Court

Federal judge to decide on bail for 23-year-old man

A federal judge is weighing bail conditions for an upstate New York man charged with threatening to kill, kidnap or harm former President George W. Bush.

Authorities say Ian Rotunno was detained in October after telling a co-worker he was headed to Washington, D.C., with his shotgun.

Secret Service agents say Rotunno was in his car armed with a gun, knives and handcuffs when they called him.  At one point, they say, he told them he was simply going to fire into a reflecting pool on the National Mall, expecting police would then arrest or kill him.  He added that he would kill Bush with his bare hands if he could.  He later drove to a police station.

The 23-year-old from suburban Rochester is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
