Man Shoots, Kills Estranged Wife Before Taking His Own Life

A man shot and killed his estranged wife before taking his own life in Allegany County Thursday afternoon, Maryland State Police say.

Police believe 47-year-old Todd Andrews shot his wife, 44-year-old Christine Andrews, inside a home on the 14000 block of Elton Drive in Cresaptown. Two of the couple's children and a friend arrived at the home just as the shooting happened, police say.

When troopers arrived, they found Todd Andrews dead in the bedroom with a handgun next to his body. Christine Andrews was taken to the hospital, but she later died.

Police say the couple had recently separated.
