Alexandria Man Charged With Sexual Assault on Taxi Passenger

Police say the victim's driver had a male friend riding with him, who later assaulted her after they exited the cab

An Alexandria man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a woman leaving a taxi, D.C. police say.

The incident began around 4 a.m. when a woman caught a cab to the 2600 block of Georgia Avenue NW.

Police say the woman's driver had a male friend riding with him. When the woman exited the cab, so did the male passenger. He briefly spoke to the woman and then pulled her into a nearby alley where he physically and sexually assaulted her, authorities said.

The victim screamed for help, and police responded to the scene, where they arrested 35-year-old Mohammed Roble Suleiman, according to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department.

Suleiman is charged with first-degree sexual assault.
