CYCLIST TICKETED FOR SPEEDING
Alexandria Gazette Packet: " It may have been a first in the annals of law enforcement for the city, according to the Alexandria Police Department. Earlier this month, a city cop issued a speeding ticket to a bicyclist who was clocked going 31 in a 25. Alexandria Police Department spokeswoman Ashley Hildebrandt says the enforcement measure is part of a stepped-up effort to crack down on bicyclists flouting the laws on the streets of Old Town."

LEISURE WORLD NAME CHANGE?
Gazette: "Residents at Leisure World in Aspen Hill seem open to changing the name of the 8,500-resident community after the results of a preliminary survey were revealed Tuesday. The survey follows a pending legal matter in which Leisure World residents would have to pay for the continued use of the trademark and globe logo. Marian Altman, chairwoman of Leisure World's board of directors, said 1,742 residents voted to change the Leisure World name, 932 residents voted to keep the name and 221 residents were undecided." 

DIRTIEST HOTELS LIST
wtop.com: " Travelers are often grossed out by a dirty bedspread, or room that may smell too much like cigarettes. But some hotels, including one at a local vacation destination, go above and beyond.  Hotel booking website TripAdvisor.com outlined the very worst American inns through its 2011 Top 10 Dirtiest Hotels list."
