Spike in License Plate Thefts

How Telehealth Technology is Revolutionizing Healthcare

License plates are hot items for thieves in Roanoke this year. About 60 license plates have been stolen so far this year says Police Lt. Mac Babb

Mac Babb says the stolen plates aren’t being used on other vehicles, but instead, thieves are stealing the stickers on the plates to avoid paying a $40 registration fee.

The Roanoke Times reports some victims don't realize their plates are gone until police stop them for driving without tags.
