Human Remains Recovered at Scene of Virginia Drug Raid

Human remains found in Stafford County are heading to the medical examiner's office in Richmond.

The Free Lance-Star reported police had been searching the site in the White Oak section of the county since acting on a court-approved drug-related search at a residence on the property. The remains were recovered over the weekend after officials brought in heavy equipment.

An affidavit outlining the reasons for the search warrant remains under seal in Stafford Circuit Court.

Investigators said they are treating the case as a homicide.
