Plenty of women would wear a dress imported from the Philippines, but not so many would wear this kind of accessory.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents intercepted a package containing dresses when it arrived from the Philippines last week, according to court documents. However, the buttons probably would not have been that effective. Inside the buttons, authorities found a tan, powdery substance wrapped in plastic.
The substance turned out to be $50,000 worth of heroin, the Washington Examiner reported.
The seizure allowed authorities to conduct a sting operation at the Baltimore home of the intended recipient of the garments. James Geter, 50, and Michael Anderson, 54, are now facing charges of conspiracy to import a controlled substance.
According to documents, Geter and Anderson told police they were holding a package for a drug dealer who planned to compensate them for it.
