What started as a local fundraiser to benefit Prince William County Police has grown into an international event.

CrossFit Woodbridge is hosting a "hero workout" in honor of fallen Officer Ashley Guindon and the two officers injured in a Feb. 27 shootout in the Lake Ridge area.

When CrossFit Woodbridge posted it on its Facebook page, interest grew around the country and around the world.

Other fitness centers joined in, and some U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan and Qatar will also participate.
