Montgomery County fire crews are dealing with a hazardous materials situation at a Food and Drug Administration building Saturday morning.

Officials said no injuries have been reported at 10903 New Hampshire Avenue at the FDA building #52.

Pete Piringer, spokesman for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, said a back-up battery system malfunction, rupturing the batteries and spilling sulfuric acid. Crews were venting hydrogen gas and the building was evacuated.
