Harris Teeter Recalls Eight Seafood Products

Products may contain onions infected with Listeria bacteria

Supermarket chain Harris Teeter announced Friday that it was recalling eight products sold in its service seafood department that may be contaminated with Listeria bacteria.

In a statement, Harris Teeter said that it had been informed by manufacturer 3 Fish, Inc. that the eight crab and lobster products designated for recall contained onions that may be tainted with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria bacteria can cause serious or life-threatening illness in a person who eats a food contaminated with it. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, nausea, or diarrhea.

Anyone who may have purchased the products listed below is asked to return them to their local store, where they will receive a full refund.
