After holding steady around the $2.00 mark for several weeks, gas prices have taken a huge one-week jump.
Prices rose 12 cents in the past week across the Washington D.C. area.
While the jump was large, prices are still a far cry from last year's average of $3.77.
With Memorial Day two weeks away, officials at AAA Mid-Atlantic say there is no clear prediction whether prices will skyrocket like last year or remain stable.
Cross your fingers for the latter and start researching Metro prices, just in case.
