Friends and family gathered on Friday to say goodbye to a 15-year-old Maryland boy killed in a car accident.
Ryan Didone died on Monday in Damascus when the car he was riding in slammed into a tree and burst into flames. Ryan and four other teens were on their way home from a church youth group meeting. Everyone else survived.
Friday morning, friends, family members and classmates gathered at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Damascus for Ryan's funeral. A burial immediately followed at the All Souls Cemetery in Germantown.
Ryan's father is a Montgomery County police captain who often spoke to groups of young people about the dangers of teen driving.
