Elementary School Janitor Charged in Assault of Student

7-year-old boy said janitor corned him with a handcart, pushed him

An elementary school janitor was taken into custody and charged following the alleged assault of a student, NBC4's Tracee Wilkins reports.

The incident happened May 25 at Enterprise Elementary School in Woodbridge, Va. A 7-year-old student said the janitor was pushing a handcart down a hallway and used the cart to corner him against a bulletin board before pushing him and walking away.

The victim was not injured.

Ross Edward Schrecengost, 59, of Unionville, was charged with assault and battery and was released with a summons to appear in court. He is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
