Cierra Curtis, 19, Charged in Toddler Son's Death in Baltimore

Police say the medical examiner ruled the son's death a homicide by blunt force trauma

Police in Baltimore have charged a 19-year-old woman with the murder of her toddler son.

Cierra Curtis, 19, was arrested Thursday and charged with fatally beating her 21-month-old son on June 30.

Police say officers were in the 5800 block of Reisterstown Road when they heard a woman screaming about her baby. Authorities say the officers attempted life-saving efforts on Curtis' son, Jayden.

Jayden was then taken to a hospital, where he died.

The medical examiner ruled Jayden's cause of death to be a homicide by multiple injuries from blunt force trauma, police say.

Curtis is charged with murder, assault, child abuse and neglect.
