Burning Body Found in Dumpster

UPDATE: The victim is a woman between the ages of 20-40 years old, 5-feet-2-inches to 5-feet-4-inches tall, 120-140 pounds with straight, dark hair. She may have been missing her front left tooth.


Firefighters discovered a body in a dumpster in Woodbridge, Va., Wednesday morning.

They responded to a report of a fire in the 1200 block of Bayside Avenue at about 9:50 a.m., and while extinguishing the fire, they discovered the body, NBC Washington's Pat Collins reported.

Police reached the scene at about 10:05 a.m. The medical examiner responded as well.

The dumpster had been emptied Tuesday at about 5 p.m., Collins reported.

The age, gender and cause of death are unknown.

The Fire Marshal's Office is assisting with the fire aspect of the investigation.
