8-Year-Old Boy Found After Going Missing From Southeast DC Home Overnight: Police

The boy's mother told police she woke up and couldn't find him

Editor's Note (Thursday, Feb. 13 at 5:19 a.m.): D.C. Police said overnight that Savion McQueen has been located.

Police are have found an 8-year-old boy who went missing from Southeast D.C.

D.C. police shared an update early Thursday morning saying that he had been found.

Savion McQueen has been last seen about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of Nelson Place SE, which is between Fairlawn and Minnesota Avenues SE.

"Anybody seen my son, I just want my baby to come home. I miss him. I'm not mad at you, Savion. Whoever has my son, please, can y'all bring my son home?" Bernadette McQueen told News4.

News4's Darcy Spencer spoke with the mother of a missing 8-year-old boy in Southeast D.C.

His mother told police she woke up Wednesday and couldn't find him.

There's video footage that shows Savion walking with an older child, D.C. police chief Peter Newsham told News4.

"He's leaving with what appears to be an older child. It looks like a juvenile but a little bit older," he said.

Police released this photo of a girl last seen with Savion in the 2900 block of Nelson Place SE.

Police later released a photo of a 17-year-old girl they say was seen with the boy in the 2900 block of Nelson Place SE. Investigators are trying to find the girl.

Savion is described as African American with a medium complexion. He's about 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 80 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a green Helly Hansen jacket, Newsham said.

He may need medication.
