A Prince George’s County police officer is accused of head-butting, biting and striking his girlfriend with a gun during a domestic dispute Tuesday.
The suspect also made death threats to the victim while holding the loaded gun according to the Anne Arundel County police report.
The victim reported the alleged incident to Prince George's County police, who reported it to Anne Arundel County police. She said her boyfriend attacked her in the 8300 block of Cloud Street in Laurel while the officer was off duty.
The accused was identified as Cpl. Steven Davis of the Prince George’s County Police Department. The Prince George’s County Internal Affairs Division has launched an administrative investigation into the incident.
Davis is suspended without pay. He has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
“The charges placed against this officer are deeply disturbing to me. ... It saddens me to bring this news to my community, but rest assured, the actions of one do not represent the actions of the almost 1,700 Prince George’s County police officers who serve and protect us every single day,” Chief Hank Stawinski said in a statement.
The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Davis has been with the department for seven years and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.
