A U.S. Park Police cruiser collided with a van in Northwest D.C. Saturday afternoon, injuring a child, an adult and the officer driving the cruiser, police confirm to News4.
The cruiser and van crashed at the intersection of Missouri Ave. and 8th Street NW.
Medics took a child with life-threatening injuries to the hospital as well as two adults with serious injuries, D.C. Fire and EMS said. The child's injuries have since downgraded to serious, fire officials said a short time later.
One of the injured adults was the Park Police officer, according to D.C. police.
All three injured are expected to survive, the fire department said.

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
