Two people were transported following an apartment fire in Southeast Washington.
The fire broke out just after 8 o'clock Monday evening in the 4000 block of 3rd Street SE. It started in a second story apartment kitchen, according to fire officials.
An adult and a child from inside the apartment building were transported to an area hospital for smoke inhalation. There was no immediate word on their condition.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
