2 Killed When Motorcycle Collided With SUV in Maryland

A man and a woman were killed when the motorcycle they were riding was struck by an SUV traveling in the wrong direction Sunday morning, Maryland State Police said.

A silver Ford Expedition was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Route 50 in Anne Arundel County when it crashed into the motorcycle at Ridgely Avenue about 12:50 a.m., police said.

Donald Tyner, 56, and Janell McDougald, 45, both of Baltimore, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver was taken into custody. The driver’s identity is being withheld while charges are filed.

Route 50 was shut down for several hours before reopening just before 6 a.m.
