Eleven people -- including 10 children -- were hospitalized following a crash on the Beltway in Montgomery County Friday afternoon.
Crews responded to the inner loop of the Beltway about a mile from the River Road exit just after 5 p.m. for a car accident involving an overturned minivan.
According to Montgomery County Fire, 11 people were hospitalized, including one woman with critical, but non-life threatening injuries. One child was transported to a trauma unit, and nine others between the ages of 5 and 12 were sent for checkups and evaluations, and are expected to be OK.
Police have not yet released the cause of the crash.
