A 10-year-old boy was rescued Saturday at a swim school in Montgomery County, Maryland, fire officials say.
A lifeguard found the child and pulled him from the water at Kids First Swim School at 15120 Frederick Road in Rockville, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue said. The lifeguard performed CPR, and the child was resuscitated.
Fire and rescue said the boy was conscious when crews arrived about 3 p.m.
He was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition. From there, the boy will be taken to Children's National Medical Center in D.C., fire officials said.
