One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash in Alexandria, Virginia, Monday night.
A 79-year-old Fairfax man was driving south on Quaker Lane when he ran a red light at Duke Street and struck another car about 10:45 p.m., police said.
The 79-year-old man died at the scene. The two people in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Pictures from the scene show a heavily damaged car.
The eastbound lanes of Duke Street was closed for a short time for the police investigation.
