1 Dead After Fiery Crash in Annapolis

Area was experiencing power outage

One person died early Monday in a fiery crash on Route 450 in Annapolis in an area experiencing a power outage.

Anne Arundel County Police were called to Route 450 near The Ridges Gateway at 4 a.m. Monday after a power outage. The vehicle crashed into a pole before it was engulfed in flames. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not released the identity of the driver.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Baltimore Gas and Electric is working to restore power to the affected area.
