The NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo is teaming up with Hiring Our Heroes -- an organization that connects veterans, military spouses and service members with employers -- to hold a hiring fair Friday at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The event will kick off with a Hiring Our Heroes Employment workshop that offers advice on resumes, networking and interviews. The workshop will last from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Afterward, career coaches will be available to offer more guidance.
The hiring fair will feature more than 50 employers looking to hire people at all experience levels. The fair will begin with a speaking program at 10 a.m. and will run until 1 p.m. Go here to register for the Hiring Our Heroes event.
News4's Aaron Gilchrist will moderate a panel discussion from 10:20 a.m. to 11 a.m. for military spouses seeking employment. Panel speakers include Jim Beamsderfer, the vice president of Veterans initiatives at Prudential Financial; Tom Downs, Diversity Talent Acquisition manager at Capital One, and Melissa Sanderson, Diversity and Military recruiter for Capital One.
