Pop-Up Space Coming To 14th Street

Party throwers Brightest Young Things have teamed up with Vitaminwater for a new pop-up space that will live at the vacant retail space at 2213-2217 14th Street NW, the City Paper reports. The temporary venue, open from May 19 to June 17, will be officially known as Vitaminwater Uncapped LIVE, and is part of a national concert series the beverage manufacturer is throwing with other hipster brands like Vice and Fader magazine.

The sprawling warehouse space (some 20,000-square feet) will serve as an ongoing BYT party destination, with art, live music, fashion, and comedy events taking place Tuesday through Friday each week. Local musicians Bluebrain, DJ Chris Burns, and Painted Face are on board to perform, as is Baltimore firecracker (and M.I.A. pal) Rye Rye. Thanks to the Vitaminwater tie-in, most or all of the events will be free.

Also happening at the pop-up is the upcoming D.C. Record Fair, which been held at smaller music venues and most recently, Arlington's Artisphere. We've lamented in the past the crowded, difficult-to-dig nature of this event, but given the size of this place, it seems like a pretty ideal destination. The Record Fair will take place on Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
