“I believe that’s the plan,” he said. “I haven’t 100 percent confirmed it with her yet… but that is exciting news.”
Leo and Kate are nominated in the Best Actor and Actress categories, respectively, for suburban drama “Revolutionary Road.” The film is up for a number of awards, including Best Picture, at the awards ceremony, which airs on NBC this Sunday at 8 PM EST / 7 Central. And Kate has another role to root for, too — she’s also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for “The Reader.”
With “Revolutionary Road” garnering considerable Oscar buzz as award season marches forward, Leo said he’s fine leaving the decisions in the hands of the judges.
“When you do these movies, you try your best while you’re on set, you give it everything you possibly can, and then it’s left to the eyes of the audience,” he said.
Leo and Kate first shared the screen in 1997’s “Titanic,” starting a friendship that’s lasted through the years.
“I developed a great relationship with… Kate, we’re still great friends,” he told Access’ Nancy O’Dell in September. “I’m proud to be a part of that movie.”
