Glam Slam: Take It Off (Tastefully)!

Memorial Day kicked off the unofficial start of Summer, which means it's that time of year to dress for hot temperatures! So how do we walk the fine line between showing more skin and not looking overexposed?? I went to designer Michele Bohbot, creator of Bisou Bisou, for the answer!

"Dressing stylish means being sexy yet sophisticated," Michele says, naming Angelina Jolie, Beyonce and Halle Berry as stars that have mastered this rule. "If you're going to go bare, stick with one area. For example, if you show cleavage, keep it modest on the bottom with a great pair of jeans or even a knee-length pencil skirt. If you're wearing a miniskirt and stilettos, keep your top a bit more covered up. Being truly sexy means leaving something to the imagination."

When it comes to Summer, dresses are a good bet for keeping cool. This season, "Maxi" dresses (Nicole Richie loves them!) are huge and don't require showing everything off! According to Michele, "Maxi dresses can hide the legs, while enhancing the waistline and chest." Also have fun with these dresses: don't be afraid of brights and prints.

If you do want to go with a short dress, I say keep it fun and flirty, like the turquoise Gold Hawk mini Vanessa Hudgens recently wore on the red carpet. Pairing a short dress with flip-flops or flats is also a great way to walk the line between sexy and saucy!

Michele also loves rompers this Summer, which show skin but are also polished. Blake Lively was recently "spotted" wearing an adorable blue one on the red carpet. "Rompers are great, because they are a perfect combination of a sleeveless top and shorts with the advantage of a loose fabric and comfort factor," Michele says.
