Police: 97-year-old Man Killed in His Baltimore Home

BALTIMORE (AP) — Authorities say a 97-year-old man was killed in his Baltimore home.

Baltimore Police say Waddell Tate was found pronounced dead in his East Baltimore home on Friday. Authorities were contacted by Tate’s family members, who found him to be unresponsive. Police say there were obvious signs of trauma on the man’s body.

Police Spokesman TJ Smith said Saturday that that police don’t have many leads in the case and asking for the public’s help. Smith said there were signs of forced entry, but police haven’t yet determined whether anything was taken from the home.

Smith called it a “despicable, evil, disgusting and pathetic act of violence.”
