GAINESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Prince William County Police say a man and his 2-year-old son were killed when their car rear-ended a delivery truck.
The department said in a news release that the crash occurred Monday morning near Lee Highway and Heathcote Boulevard in Gainesville.
Officers say 32-year-old Daniel Velasco of Gainesville was driving a Honda Accord on Lee Highway.
Police say the car struck the rear of a delivery truck, which was stopped at the intersection. Velasco and his 2-year-old son Ronin were pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt. The crash is under investigation.
