Eastern Orange Line Commuters Should Plan for Delays Monday Morning

WASHINGTON — Orange Line passengers will have to allot some extra time for their Monday morning commutes.

Trains will be single-tracking between New Carrollton and Cheverly stations, reducing service on the eastern end of the Orange Line.

Impacted stations include: New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood and Minnesota Avenue. At these stations, trains will run about every 16 minutes, rather than every eight minutes.

Customers who normally drive to Metro stations on the eastern end of the line are encouraged to use Blue or Silver lines as alternative routes.

In a statement, Metro says service between Vienna and Stadium-Aromory should be relatively normal.
