CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Four people convicted in the slaying of a Waynesboro reserve police officer are set to be sentenced.
Shantai Shelton, Mersadies Shelton, Daniel Mathis and Kweli Uhuru were found guilty by a Roanoke jury in February of murder and kidnapping in the death of 45-year-old Waynesboro Reserve Police Capt. Kevin Quick.
They’re set to be sentenced Monday at the U.S. District Court in Charlottesville.
Quick was reported missing on Feb. 1, 2014. His body was found days later in woods northwest of Richmond.
The Staunton News Leader reports that the four each face the possibility of life in prison.
