It's like we've died and gone to Candyland. Equinox Restaurant (818 Connecticut Ave. N.W.) is hosting a Winter Chocolate Happy Hour the next three Fridays (March 6, 13 and 20) from 5-7 p.m.
Choco-tastic cocktails ($10 each) include the Modern Chocolatini (with espresso vodka), the Sahara Haze (with cinnamon-infused bourbon) and the After Dark (with vanilla-infused vodka and house-made iced chocolate coffee. It's dessert in a cup, and that makes everyone happy. (That, and the alcohol.)
Plus, you'll get your chance to nom on complimentary treats from Executive Chef Todd Gray and Pastry Chef Melanie Parker -- and you can feel damned good about indulging yourself here, because Equinox happens to be heavily involved with the sustainable and seasonal food movements. Whenever possible, the ingredients used at the resto are community-farmed, locally grown and organic. So what if you're eating a piece of chocolate the size of a bowling ball? It's totally good for you.
