Cab Driver Alexandria's First Homicide Victim of '09

Man found shot in cab

A cab driver was shot to death in Alexandria, Va., Sunday, in what police said is the city's first homicide of 2009.

Alexandria police found 50-year-old Khalil Siddiqi of Fairfax, Va., unresponsive in his vehicle at the intersection of Princess Street and Buchanan Street.  He had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to investigators.

Robbery is being considered as a possible motive, police said in a statement.
