Join NBC4 and Telemundo44 as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, honoring the culture and traditions of Americans whose ancestry runs through Spain, Mexico or the Spanish-speaking nations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

The month began on Sept. 15, the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. The month lasts until Oct. 15.

On Oct. 6 at 8:30 a.m., NBC4 will air a special program celebrating Hispanic Heritage month. Erika Gonzalez, David Culver, Sulema Salazar and Alban Zamora will spend time at Hispanic-owned businesses such as restaurants and wineries, and profile Latinos making a difference in the community. Telemundo44 will also air this special program on Oct. 13.

NBCLatino will also run a digital series called "Generation Latino" with a focus on what it means to be a young Latino.  Engage in the social conversation by using #NBCGenerationLatino.  There will also be a Hispanic Heritage-themed "Talk Stoop" episode. We will post a time and date for that soon.
