Another purple line is coming the the D.C. area, but officials hope this line will help commuters easily identify Virginia's Express Lanes.

Drivers will start seeing new purple lane stripes on highways by mid-July.

The 4-inch, purple stripes will be painted inside the white and yellow stripes that lead to the Express lanes. The stripes are supposed to make it clear that you are entering the Express Lanes.
