Wegmans is the best supermarket chain in America, according to a new national report.
Consumer Reports May issue includes ratings of 59 grocery store chains based on surveys of shoppers across the country, the Washington Business Journal reported.
Wegmans came in at No. 1, with a score of 87 out of 100.
Each chain was also scored in four categories -- perishables, service, price and cleanliness. Wegmans received the highest possible score in 3 out of the 4 categories. They only took a hit in price, where they were "average."
Other local chains to make the top five were Trader Joe's (No.2) and Harris Teeter (No.5).
