Want to become a wine connoisseur? Or just know exactly which bottle to order when you go out? Sign up for the Summer Wine Fundamentals Series at Cork Market and Tasting Room (1805 14th St. N.W.).

The series begins with Wine Fundamentals One: The Basics, on Saturday June 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday June 29 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. During the 90-minute course, you'll discover the differences between grape varieties, explore wine regions, learn to use your senses to evaluate wine, wine storage and serving techniques, and basic wine vocabulary.

The next three classes are entitled Terrior, Compare New and Old World, and Food and Wine Pairing. With each class ($45 per course, or $175 for all four courses together), you'll become more confident in your knowledge of wine. To reserve a spot, call 202-265-2674 or e-mail classes@corkdc.com.

In no time, go from casual wine drinker to expert. Go ahead, feel superior.
