See why Japan's first lady thinks she was on a UFO and take a look at our list of must-reads that will have you chatting at the lunch counter, over IM or wherever it is that people actually talk these days...

  • The new first lady of Japan claims she had a close encounter with aliens. Miyuki Hatoyama says she boarded a UFO and went to Venus, according to a book she penned last year. "While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus," she wrote. "It was a very beautiful place and it was really green."

  • Madonna travels with a private jet's worth of gym equipment, according to a report. On her recent trip to Israel, the Material Mom took over 11 suites and 25 rooms at a Tel Aviv hotel. The King Solomon Ballroom, typically a place reserved for weddings and bar mitzvahs, was turned into her gym so she could train for a six-day, 151-mile race next year.

  • A gutted frog made its way into a can of Diet Pepsi and caught one Florida man by surprise when he took a large gulp of the soda and began gagging, or so the man says. The man's wife said something like "pink linguini" came out followed by "dark stuff" as he was grilling in his backyard. The Food and Drug Administration determined the foreign matter was a frog or a toad, but Pepsi said there's no way it was in one of their cans.

  • Teens who experiment with drugs and sex are more mature than their peers. Those considered "at-risk" have more mature brains than their classmates, according to a new study. The brain's wiring is more developed in reckless teens, which could help to explain why youngsters who engage in risky behavior feel more adult and thus more likely to test limits.
