Anne Arundel County detectives found a three-foot-long alligator as they searched for drugs in a Jessup home Friday.

Narcotics detectives and other authorities were at the home on 7506 Gleneagle Drive to execute a search and seizure warrant for controlled dangerous substances.

They confiscated about 159 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $3,180, as well as drug paraphernalia, other unknown substances, almost $800 in currency -- and an American Alligator.

Authorities said the alligator was found to be in good health. It was transported to Animal Control, and from there to a facility for exotic animals.

A resident of the home, Michael Bolden, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of CDS marijuana. Additional charges are pending, officials said.
