The deadline for Maryland voters to request an absentee ballot for the primary election by mail, fax or e-mail is Sept. 7.

Any registered voter in Maryland may request and vote by absentee ballot. A voter must request the ballot at his or her local board of elections.

After Sept. 7, requests for absentee ballots must be made in person at a local board of elections.

Maryland's primary is Sept. 14. The general election is Nov. 2.
