Woodbridge Mother Charged With Felony Child Neglect

Allegations surface after young son goes missing

A mother from Woodbridge, Va., is charged with felony child neglect for allegedly losing track of her young son for half the weekend.

A family member living with Catrina Washington-McCullo, 41, reported her 8-year-old son missing early Sunday morning, Prince William County police said. He hadn't been seen by his family members since about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Police found the child unharmed about 2 miles away from his house about 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

During their investigation, detectives discovered Washington-McCullo "does not properly care for [her son]" and "is often unaware of his whereabouts," according to a release from police.

Police arrested Washington-McCullo and held her on a $2,500 secured bond.
