A woman's body was found in a Northeast D.C. apartment earlier this week, and neighbors say they had smelled a decomposing body for about two months. News4's Shomari Stone has the story.
A woman's decomposing body was found inside the closet of a Northeast D.C. apartment and neighbors are suspecting foul play.
Police made the gruesome discovery Saturday in the 1300 block of Adams Street NE while performing a welfare check. Neighbors told News4's Shomari Stone they hadn't seen the woman, identified as 46-year-old Tonda Camp, in weeks.
"I'm very sad, nervous and scared," neighbor Sandra Jackson said. "We hadn't seen her and her sister kept calling me, asking if I'd seen her."
Jackson said she and the other neighbors had smelled something foul in the apartment for a couple months, but never thought it could have been a body.
Police have yet to release any details in the case, but neighbors told News4 they suspect foul play.
