Woman Robbed at Gunpoint Near U.Md. Campus

Prince George’s County police are looking for an armed robber after a hold-up near the University of Maryland’s fraternity row.

A woman was robbed at gunpoint about midnight Tuesday on Paint Branch Parkway as she walked from the Metro station, police said.

The woman told police she was wearing headphones and looking at her cell phone when a man confronted her. He showed a handgun and told her to empty her pockets, police said.

The robber got away with cash and ran toward the Metro station.

He wore a ski mask, gloves and bright red shoes.

The woman was not hurt.
