Winning Powerball Ticket Bought in Maryland

Someone in Maryland is waking up today a very rich person.

For the first time in history, someone from Maryland bought the winning Powerball ticket. He or she bought the winning $107 million ticket in Abingdon, located in Harford County about 25 miles northeast of Baltimore.

"Along with the torrential downpours, it's raining cash here in Maryland," a press release from

Maryland Lottery

quipped.

The winning numbers, announced on Thursday, were: 3, 5, 18, 27, 54 and the Powerball was 13.

The winner has not revealed his or her identity yet. Lottery officials said the winner should sign the back of the ticket.

"The winner, who has 182 days to claim, can decide between the $107 million annuity or a $64.2 million cash option," said the release from Maryland Lottery. After taxes, the winner will receive an annual payment of approximately $1.2 million per year for 30 years -- or, if the winner chose the cash option, it'll be a lump sum of $42.2 million.

Wine World, which sold the winning ticket, will receive a $25,000 commission.
