A mother recently was arrested and charged with felony child neglect after her 3-year-old son tried to cross a major roadway alone in Prince William County, Va.
The boy was spotted walking by himself about 3:40 p.m. Friday and trying to cross Dale Boulevard in Woodbridge, Va., police said.
When police found the child's home, the front door was ajar. His mother, Kiara Leshaun White, 24, was asleep inside, police said.
White was charged with felony child neglect and is due in court October 8. The child was not harmed and is in the care of other family members, police said.
