Victim's Cell Phone Snatched While in Use

Someone snatched a tourist's cell phone apparently in mid-conversation last week in northwest D.C.

Myra Robinson was on a business trip to the District when a man snatched a phone from her while she was talking with her husband.

"You're walking down the street texting or talking, so into your conversation you don't realize someone else is eyeing your phone," Robsinon told News4.

Surveillance video shows Robinson walking a busy sidewalk in the 900 block of H Street NW after 9 p.m. Wednesday when someone approached from behind and grabbed the phone, which the victim was holding up to the right ear.

The video shows Robinson chasing the robber into the street and off camera.

"It's not the smartest thing to do after someone steals your phone," Robinson said.

Anyone who recognizes the robber or knows about the incident should call police at 202-727-9099 or text your tip to 50411.
